"My Name" is a common essay title during the childhood's school time. I have never find this topic interesting until I grown up.

Most people hardly to remember my name as they have to pronounce my first name Pui Gin. This pronunciation is inconvenient especially to foreigner. As in common practice, most people will get a Christian name for the ease of calling and recalling some faces. However I never have one of those thought. It happens many times my friends and colleagues asked me why not get a Christian name which everybody can call me in short. My reply to them is - I am satisfy with my name or you can call me Gin.

Now, lets tell you a story of how I get my naming from my grandfather. My Chinese full name is 鍾佩桢 where in translated version is Chung Pui Gin. The name 桢 is seldom use by others as it doesn't sound common. As I trace this word in a dictionary, somehow it is defined as a word came from the name of the founder of Mongol Empire -Genghis Khan or in Chinese - 成吉思汗. Before His Highness proclaimed as Genghis Khan , his name was Temujin or in Chinsese 铁木真 . The word 桢 is actually from his combined first name of 木真. Genghis Khan was once the world greatest military accomplishments in history where Moghol Empire became the largest contiguous empire in history after his death.

After such elaboration and explanation, I am proud to be called as who I am. With the as strong spirit and as tough success as His Highness, no one will doubt with a baby girl who borne with a knight heart. Born to be a Queen otherwise ~

The A-Team First Event

Proudly to be the company's Sport Club President and organized the first event of the year - Hiking trip to Broga Hill. The participation was encouraging compare to last year event where colleagues really bring along family members. Further more the managing director shows his support by joining the event even though he landed from oversea the night before.

The event starts at 4am where everyone have to wake up really early and drive to the meeting point at Batu 9 Toll, Kajang. A brochure has been given during a short briefing the day before. Everything was well organized and went smoothly.

We reached the first peak at 6.30am with expectation to view the sunrise. However it was a cloudy morning. It was really fortunate that raining didn't happen on that day or the day before. Children of young age were able to reach the peak. Some did continue to second but not the third peak. It was too crowded. I tried to fly a kite at first peak but the wind was inconsistent. Therefore most of the time was just snapping pictures of the scenery.

Food Review in Japan

The whole trip was feeding me with enough good food in healthy way. None stop trying the authentic Japanese food even though it costs quite expensive. Worth for the try as hardly get the same quality of food in Malaysia. The best I like is still the ice cream and sashimi. Bet no one will miss the Hokkaido King crab and Kobe beef ~

A Day @ Universal Studio Japan

Save the best for last. The last program for our Japan Trip was a day at The Universal Studio Japan. We love The Universal Studio better compare to Disneyland. Exciting games with open eye technology. Some tour members claim that the Singapore New Universal Studio has even more exciting games compare to this. I think it could be possible as the one in Japan was built more than 15 years ago. Can travel to the nearest with a more satisfy result for Universal Studio trip.... why not?? Looking forward the Singapore Universal Studio trip by end of the year ~

Lucas's School Day

When we decided to keep a German Shepherd, we decided to send the dog for training. A huge dog to guard the house in future. The master must to control his pet. There we started a weekly Sunday School of Dog Obedience Training for Lucas.

The training take place in One Utama Central Park. Beyond my expectation, there are so many masters actually bring their dogs for morning walk on Sunday. The members are many. Five to six groups with at least 10 members in a group, justify according to the dog's size.

The course consists of 10 lesson with exam by the end of the training. Graduating dogs will be award with a blue vest and badges in order to proceed to higher level of another training. Hopefully Lucas and his master will be able to complete the course and pass the exam ~

It was very lucky that we get our dream Mac with a discount price. Now we can really enjoy working at home with an iMac with 27 inch big LED-backlit display, wireless keyboard and Magic Mouse standard and the fastest iMac yet. It was so excited awaiting for the delivery far away from Sabah in a month time. Finally it arrived safely ~

The Most Awaited Good Friday ~

This is a long awaiting journey to Japan for the Sakura Festival. Finally we made it after half a year planning. We departed to Tokyo on the Good Friday. We are really lucky to get right into the season as the 100 % blooming happens in the second day we arrived Japan. The expected blooming season was late of March but unfortunately the sudden snowing delayed the blooming to early April.

I adopted a Golden Retriever from the family five years ago. A lost pet Labrador join the family since August last year. Two dogs that I have to bath every weekend like raising up children of myself. Lucky it's just a weekend job. Recently a 3 months old German Shepherd comes into the family. Now I have 3 'kids' to look after. I cant really help with the 'workload' so I decided the one who wanted to adopt the dog has to take care by himself.

Now, hubby got to start his part as master to the dogs. Goffy - the Golden Retriever, Tiger - the Labrador and Lucas - the German Shepherd. Two dogs under my taking care and Lucas under his new master. One must shout - all big size dogs??? You must be owning really big house. Oh ya.. big dogs in small house... this is the problem. Somehow really hard to control big dogs. I fell with scars on my knees in the "training process". It got to be training me stronger than to train the dogs to behave ~

However, at last my hubby willing to help out for babysit after years of my self-responsible. Now he knows how "suffer" the process... now he knows ~ No Complaint ~

Hubby and me are now officially join as Rain Tree Club's members. We attended the Introduction Night with long table fine dinning and Jazz performance. There were about 33 new members join the club at this session.

The presentation of membership on stage spell out the new member's background and career. Most of the new members are very high profile, such as CEO, Managing Directors, Scientists to Oil and Gas company, Principles, lawyer, doctor, Dato, YB and most important they are multi-nationality. Some from Greece, United State, Zimbabwe, France etc. No doubt most of people who join clubs are for socializing and networking.... besides the facilities provided and the member's fee that we have to pay. But this one.. not ordinary. It seem very much like chasing after statutory or self-define as high income group.

I was not interested in the club at first place. Not really offense it but making me uncomfortable. Attended the compulsory event, walk in as couple to satisfy the committee. Other than that I am out. As the facilities and network are what my hubby looking for I think he really look for the self-define group. Make friends with intention.. shame ~

Hubby told me he was as nervous as getting marry when he waited for call on stage to receive his membership. Ermm.. no comment. I just take it normal.. not excited at all..even I was on the stage too. He felt so tiny of himself being an architect among the new members ; and I think no point to judge ourselves by comparing with others.

Person who starts to compare with statutory tend to become materialistic. What do you think?

Goffy discharged finally ~

Goffy has been sent to admit hospital last Sunday as we found out his left leg being attack by worms. We found 7 holes in between two legs where 11 worms dropped out after we put him on the medicated spray. Some was concern to send him into hospital immediately ; some say worms attack is normal to dogs.

This time we sent him into a nearer hospital at Pekeliling - The Animals Medical Center. The charge is higher compare with the one at Gasing. Sending him into hospitalize without knowing the cost ends up with a real surprised bill. This round cost us RM 1500 for a week stay with surgery over the de-worm. My heart almost dropped out from the bill sump. Goffy has been seeing the vet on and off over the past 3 months and really cost us a lot. Hopefully he stays healthy always and cause less maintenance fee ~

It was a long weekend again. After this weekend the CNY is officially end ~ I spent this weekend watching online movie. Then I found an interesting Korean movie which is suppose a horror movie but with a very substance story line - A Tale of Two Sisters.

I remember this movie on show in year 2005 but I never interested in horror movie. Now I was under-estimated it. The script was actually sold to US for an English version show on year 2009, however the respond from audience was far away prefer the Korean version.

The movie OST is another pieces of my favourite. It comes in guitar and piano version. The notes do sounds sad but it's really a wonderful pieces.

As the celebration season comes, we start to keep eating and eating before the Chinese New Year. A just fine reason for reunion , buffet big eat and gathering. Any outing would just link to EAT!! Restaurants earn the most from this..... Everyone could be generous to spend especially with a reason to eat. Non stop eating ... hopefully I wont lost control by end of the month ~

Another weekend of Dog Affair ~

Last weekend was a long one with Federal Day dropped on Monday ( 1st Feb ). It was supposed a weekend to shop for soon to come CNY but the mission was failed. The weekend was spent on taking care a sick dog and a sick man ~

Goffy did not recover from last two weeks meeting up with vet doctor. In facts, he gets more sick after a week. We decided to send him to the vet again on Saturday, admitted in the hospital for two days. After a more detail check up with heavier syndromes of his back legs, the vet doctor finally announced that Goffy inherited hips disease from the family. Doctor informed that hip disease is common among Golden Retriever. Fortunately it was not the spine disease which is also very common. In which it means Goffy was not from a good blood family ~

Besides the natural inheritance factor, doctor also advice us on the dog house floor material. It was the architect's fault to lay tiles for a dog house especially when it gets wet. The slippery floor cause Goffy 's hips joint get worse with no gel that bound between the joints. Starting from the day, Goffy will have to take supplementary dairy which cost RM 10 per day.

The one month sickness finally comes to a conclusion. Goffy will never able to run but to walk for the rest of his life. The twice treatment and check up cost over a thousand ringgit. What is more important is Goffy able to survive from the recovery.

Most pet keeper would let the dogs end their life by suffer if they found out that treatments might be costly. In other case is pet keeper would probably buy another new dog with the same price to heal the sick dog. In our sense of humanity, we will keep Goffy in whatever circumstance even if he is in a wheelchair. In facts, the negligence of architect's specification enough to cause him bare this responsibility for a whole life ~

P/s - Goffy probably must be very happy that he doesn't need to stay in that dog house anymore ^0^

I'm an orchestra lover. I used to pick up violin in my teenage... not really into classic pieces but I do love movie theme songs.

Every December and January is my busy months to attend Malaysia Philharmonic Orchestra concert performance. This season is the most happening time of the year where music celebrates the festive. December is meant for Christmas Caroling ; January is meant for Viennese Waltz. This January I attended two performance in a row, The New Year in Vienna with popular Strauss Music; The Golden Age of Film Music with some classic film's theme songs.

The Strauss music reminded me of the Strauss TV show during the 90'an in Dunhill Double Blockbuster every Thursday and Friday nights. I fall in love with orchestra from Strauss pieces. Since then I decided to take up the instrument. Among the Strauss family tree, Johann Strauss II is the most I adore. Sure everyone can recall his popular Blue Danube Waltz ~ It is just too classic.

The Golden Age Film Music brought me an open eye to the classic movie theme songs. As what I expect the most was Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast in Tiffany theme song - Moon River. However I was attracted to another pieces of Spartacus. Here is the pieces of the night which touch my heart the most ~

A Weekend of Dogs Affair

Last weekend was a busy one with five days in a row I have to take care of a sick dog, Goffy.

About Goffy ...
Goffy is a five years old Golden Retriever of the Lee's family. He has been sent to Lee family for temporary taking care when his owner's wife was in pregnancy five years ago. Since then the owner has never return to pick him up .... and I consider him was adopted to the new family.

Goffy is an active dog who was not so friendly to people in the early adoption. When he was starving in the cage with no one bath him at all for half a year, I considered myself to pick up the responsibility to rescue him. He bite, he attack and he was rude .... no discipline, no manner and no control. I was always get hurt by feeding him, bath him and get him out of the cage for walk... a very strong dog that I cant control ~

However, after one year of hard training the relationship started to grow. It took me four years to train this dog obey to order, be discipline and be polite ~ there he turns adorable where people starts to like him.

Goffy falls sick ...
Goffy used to hop up and down, bark non stop when he know that I'm about to arrive. His barking can continue for two hours just wanting me to stay with him at the night.

Last Friday when I arrived at Lee's house, something unusual that happened ~ Goffy was silent and laying deadly on the floor. That's really frighten me cause Goffy never fall heavily in sick before. The maids told me that Goffy never voice out for two days and he was not eating. The house owner never pay attention to his sickness .... He lost voice, body week, back legs unable to knee down and lost appetite. He carried the sickness till the third day and I decided to bring him to veterinary hospital.

At the Clinic ...
It was a Sunday morning, we travel him from KL to PJ for a veterinary hospital at Jalan Gasing (recommended by a friend). The hospital was full with pet lovers who bring along cats and dogs for medical check up. Sadly faces found from the patients .... no more cat and dog fight ... all line up for registration and waiting to see doctor. It was a funny scene ~

Goffy get his turn in half and hour. He did his X-ray for throat, blood test for virus attack, body temperature measurement and finally we knew that he got fever. Doctor gets him an injection and some antibiotic to consume. We did him a blood test on heartworm before letting him on the monthly basis heartgard. The rarely body check up cost about RM300. It wasn't costly as I expect ...

The follow up ...
Goffy stay weak and no appetite for the following day. I found his back leg was swollen when I went over to visit him after work. i guess that was the reason he got fever from the back leg injured. Still making him to eat something with antibiotic pills. With the follow up, his back leg has recovered after two days but still he haven't get back his voice for days after that. As long as he stay naughty then I shall have no worries of his recovery.

Hopefully he will bark for me when I visit him again in two more days ~

First Trip in 2010

This new year first day was earlier reserved by an old friend to attend her wedding in Kota Bahru, Kelantan. We departed early in the morning , despite having not enough sleep from midnight count down on the new year eve , flying from KL to reach KB for the wedding banquet at night. Old friends gave us warm welcome and pick up from the airport, sending us for lunch at the Bride's house and later catch up all friends update by visiting their working place.

Aware but feeling odd that Friday is the Weekend in Kelantan ( just like Sunday as practice ); Saturday is half day off and Sunday is a working day ~ Bet you definitely cant accept this if you are not grown up in a Islamic State. And what surprised me is first day of new year is NOT a public holiday in Kelantan. It means 1st January is always NOT a public holiday. Again ... definitely cant accept this fact.

First day arrived in KB, we were roughly briefed for the local practice before we proceed to further understanding of the local culture the following days. A good rest in the late noon and we attend the banquet in the evening.

The next day programs were well planned by few Kelantan friends as well, Annie, Shyang Lih & Choon Lik. We have breakfast of Nasi Dagang before depart to Rantau Panjang ( border of Thailand ) for a short visit. Wanted to cross over the border to Golok ( Thailand ) but unfortunately it get boomed over the last two weeks. ( P/S - Golok always get boomed by the Islamic terrorists .... never ending story ). Short walk but long drive , buying nothing from a duty free zone ... however we discovered that Kelantan is famous of Bird's Nest business. How say ? ... houses and shop lots are renovated to nest the different type of swallows. We were notify by birds noise everywhere in the city.

Friends told us that houses here are not for people .... but for birds. People rent and stay for shelter but do not make money ; swallows come and build nest, it makes a lot of money. Therefore more and more properties owners are rather to rent out the ground floor for retail but first and second floor converted into bird's nest farm. Well renovated bird house with ventilation and bird holes but not considering the hygiene of sanitary waste from the upper floor to the retail below. Illegal farming business in the business district.

Well, bird's story ends... The next stop was the famous Sleeping Buddha Temple. I came here few years back, and the Buddha is still sleeping today. Guess he gonna sleep there forever.... :P

After having Ulam meal for the lunch , we went to a Siamese Temple for a Herbs steam bath. The AEC tv host Ah Xien came for the promote before. Good try on that.

Dinner is the most anticipating program of the day. We have local special dishes as requested by Justin to my friends ... the Belut ( fresh water Unagi ) and the bees. Dishes are delicious where the restaurant is just few feet away from the railway track. Bet you dare not try on the fry bees ... I personally not really into it but I did get a try of full spoons.. ( Fear Factors !!! ) .Taste like beans but still can taste the smell of insect.

Next morning, last day in KB, we visited the market for local food and products. Not buying much but famous fish cakes of junk food. Last try of local dish for lunch - Kau Jam, before we depart to airport.

Kelantan is a fusion of cultures from the Malays, Siamese and Chinese. Being a Chinese in Kelantan you definitely cannot practice the pure chinese way of living, just like the Nyonyas in Melacca and Penang. The food, architecture, holidays, living style are all a mixed of Thailand and Malays. It created a new community calls the Kelantanese instead of the religious or races. Amazing place but minority.

Fascinating great movie - Avatar

The long awaited Blockbuster movie - Avatar is now showing. We went for the first day show expecting there are still 3D seats available. However the late comers always do not get what they wish. Luckily we did get the normal show ticket ... but at the most front row ~

The movie really place us into an incredible world. Expected storyline but unexpected incredible scene - The Pendora. The movie was long, 2 hour and 45 min but we do not feel that it was such a long movie... maybe because of finding so much surprise in the process. Many breath holding moments that one should have no reason to miss this movie.

I will return for my second show for the 3D version .... soon ~

Year End Spring Cleaning 2009

The year comes to an end and it is time to clean up the unwanted stuffs in office. Surprisingly the office actually clean up twice a year but still producing a lot of rubbish! Unbelievable "tonnes" of waste paper ... seem like a lot of projects production in the firm.

The Spring Cleaning session is also the company staffs birthday party session. After all hard work cleaning and carrying the rubbish for disposal, we are treated with meals and presents ( birthday boy & birthday girls ). Three directors' birthday in this later half a year and we have three birthday cakes. Unbelievable the huge amount of junk food also "finishing" in this single session. And I believe the company staffs really Work Hard, Play Hard & Eat Hard ~

Part 1 : Roof Top

It has been a long while I never been to Lot 10. Get to know about the refurbishment at roof top when a friend completed the recent project of actor studio. The short visit did surprise us with the contemporary architecture at the urban center which will make you feel yourself being at somewhere in Australia. Loving it for the design from my favorite architect and landscape architect.

Part 2 : Ford's Supermodel

Lot 10 used to know as celebrities shopping mall. I never bump into any celebrity from my previous visits but being lucky this time. It was the Ford Super Model audition ~ bump with Amber Chia.

I'm not really into those modeling TV show and this is my first time seeing so many handsome guys and pretty girls lining up just for an audition. Contestants dressing up nicely with perfect make up making each and everyone a super star.

It was last month story ... and now the TV show came to the end. I cant recognize the winner from the group photos I took earlier but definitely they went through a series of transformation during the training program TV show.

The 16th Penang International Dancesport Championship 2009

The annual Penang International Dancesport Championship is here again. It dropped on a long weekend so we decided to make a trip to Penang for the competition this year. This is my third time attending the competition.

The schoolmates from Benny School of Dancing used to travel for the competition. Last year , it was held at PISA ( Penang International Sport Arena ) and this year it is held at Bay View Hotel, Batu Ferringgi. The hall is much smaller compare with PISA and with less number of international participants. I prefer standard ballroom session but Latin Ballroom is more interesting - sexy and sharp movement :P

Our schoolmates didn't make it into semi final but we do enjoy the food hunting Penang trip. Guess the competition will be shown on Astro AEC channel Chinese New Year program in the coming year.

A "Delicious" Day ~

It is my BIG day , 3rd Nov 2009!!! On this day I registered as Board of Architects' graduate member. On this day it was a busy day out for administration on my off work day..... and yet we have a celebration at night ~

Simple celebration but not simple preparation by my hubby. He got into car accidents when driving here and there to search for my present. Extra unforeseen accident compensation cost topped up for the present. A very surprised and yet the biggest present I received so far. However this TWINS present is on sharing basis. Consider a wonderful day in life :)

Early of the year when friends were struggling for design studio submission, I was escape away to attend a solo exhibition by Aya Kato during KL Design Week. After all, that was the first time I met an artist personally and get her autograph in her book published. A little fans for the first time ~

That was the most impressive solo exhibition that I ever attended. Every pieces is a masterpiece. She is in a very young age as an international artist which surprised me! Years back... Edward was my driver to work in car pool. We met each other every morning , chat in the journey to work. Not to forget he is an always late person who need a morning call ~ After all, he is now working in Singapore. Finally he got his Mrs. Right ~

Today, we attended his church wedding in the late morning. A simple but well-prepared event that he has to organize it even working away from Malaysia. It is Haloween today! It recalls me of the same Haloween day that he prepared for company event years back. He made himself a red robe for vampire costume ~ custom made from his mom... and today he is dressing up in taxido for his BIG DAY! Mummy must be very proud of him :D

BBQ on Deepavali

Deepavali falls on a Saturday this year. No program is planned for it but we are invited to a dancemate's house for a BBQ session at night. She bought all ingredient of cooking but she cannot cook at all. So the whole gang of us just pick whatever we found on the basket to cook whatever recipe that we know. Very joyful dinner ... we have steak, lamb, salmon, prawn, squids, veggies, fruits, ... and also durian brought all the way from the orchard by us.

Here, my first try on using the oven to bake potato in garlic & butter. Never try before but the result turn out tastefully. Even though the baking was interrupted by on and off checking on the heat and finally I found the recipe to prepare a well cooked baked potato needs 180 Celsius for 40 minutes.

We have early dinner of the night started at 6pm but chatting and clearing the food on table until 12.30 midnight. Long chat we have for sharing each other experiences. The dinner ended with Lemon Honey Green Tea after a full but delicious western BBQ dinner.

Reunion @ Carcosa

I, Kin Yi & Oi Len are old schoolmates. When Oi Len decided to leave Malaysia to Sydney, we started our reunion trip to farewell her last year. Then, we are trying to make it an annual one. Last year we made it a short trip to Genting Highland ; this year we made it to Carcosa, KL.

We always have only one day to gather for that. Therefore searching for an interesting & domestic place is crucial. Kin Yi came all the way from Sabah, Oi Len from Australia & me at KL. As the center of the station, always me the organizer. I lend out my room for their night stay, brought them for breakfast dim sum in the morning, and to the lake garden searching for a high tea place. There we came across to Carcosa ... an interesting well preserved colonel building.

Carcosa is a very suprising place to them as we can hardly find a peaceful place in KL city. Green environment with British style of living. We have a very joyful high tea there before sending Oi Len depart to airport and Kin Yi back to Sabah the next day.

Very much busy of this month. This is the first week of October and we have been attended FIVE wedding invitations ~ wooWW... what a celebration months ... Nothing else but just busy to attend weddings here and there. Believe me I have put up 3kg in a week.. the most disaster weight gain in my life , hahaha ~

Most wedding banquets in KL start by 8.30pm or 9pm even though it is written 7.30pm in the invitation card. And always the dinner end by 11pm the earliest or midnight. Dinner after long waiting hours at the dining table with lot of food after 9pm is the main factor of weight gain. Felt so hungry before the dinner but super full and uncomfortable to sleep after the meal. Should be feeling happy for the wedding couple but the banquet culture should have adjust for the punctuality.

~ Hari Raya ~

Hari Raya is one of the annual long holiday in Malaysia. Everyone makes an early plan for it. Some companies off for two to three days ; some off for a week. No matter where you stay, for sure you will plan an out station trip for it. Because of this, there is always heavy traffic jam along the highway ..... except in KL. What a peaceful KL without the daily terrible jam ~

We did plan for a domestic trip... Initially to Penang.. on the first day, heard of the traffic getting more than 7 hours jam to reach, we changed our mind to Melacca. Again, on the second day, we heard from a friend that they jam to Melacca & were standing for an hour at a restaurant just to have a lunch place. So, we decided to take a short trip to Genting.

The third day, we made it to Awana Genting for sport. It was a sporty day. We play ping pong & golf practice. A shower of rain by the noon and we went for a lunch at Gothong Jaya. Next, we tried our luck if we can stop by Genting for a walk. It was a terrible jam to Genting Highland. No parking or even drop off allow... FULL HOUSE! We have to drive straight down hill since it is a one way road. We managed to drop by Gothong Museum at half way down hill for the first visit. We park the car at the road side and have a walking distance to the temple tower. After that, we drove back to KL.

The next day, a news report that a land slide happened right at the spot where we park the car at the hill slope. How fortunate ~ What a narrow escape!! Land slide happened most probably because of the rain. There, it summarized this raya holiday ~ a fortunate escape ...

Bobo's new bike !

My little family member - Terrier names Bobo, is my father's little daughter. She is a very humanity pet dog who knows never to piss in the house. She knows to stay away from the house compound whenever comes to toilet time. Twice a day father brings her for a walk to the park. Dogs like to walk in the park very much! Love the grass and the smell.... but not to Bobo. She always stay away from the grass and get done on the hard surface. She doesn't like to walk long also. Therefore father has to drive her for a distance.

In early years, Bobo walks.... after sometimes she sounds complain for the walking. When she get tired half way walking to the park she will just sit at the middle of the road regardless any car passing by. Father bought a bicycle then just to send her to the park twice a day. There our pet own the very first asset ~ We name it Bobo's bike!

Today, someone stole Bobo's bicycle within the house compound. She supposes to look after her property OR her master's property. Well, isn't that a dog's obligation to look after the house? Sometime this little gal just overslept for her job. She didn't get scold from the lost however getting a bigger bike from father as replacement ~ What the luckiest dog in the world!! She got an immediate transport replacement ... and an on call DRIVER ^.^

I fall sick ~

I'm seldom fall sick. My first sick in this one and a half year was on The Merdeka Day. Get fever early in the morning thought it was just get cold from the uncertain raining season. Lost appetite, weak & restless. The uncertain fever and nausea continue to the first day of work. What an unfortunate day! Lay on the bed for two days and crawl to work. Finally I decided to on MC today. The twice vomit and recovered fever has been detect as food virus attack. Luckily not the H1N1 or Dengue attack. Fever is the most creepy sickness in office. Once a staff reported fever, with no any reason he/she can allow to office. Thanks to the H1N1 disease recently hit. By the way, I also learned a lesson from taking "all you can eat" oyster.... The virus attack most possible from the raw seafood that I took two days before the sick. Hopefully I can recover soon and report to work tomorrow ~

P.S :- Too long never fall sick and it reminds me now how suffer it should be ~ Always have to keep good health.

Sandakan problems never ending ~

End of last month (27 July 09), the TM center reported an explode early in the morning which cause the whole city of Sandakan break down from communication for days. No banking service available, no fix line telephone service, no Internet connection ... and all offices employee can actually stop working till the communication back in service. Can't make a call for business, can't bank in or withdraw money, can't use the ATM machine, can't spread the bad news in Internet even.... It took three days to recover the phone lines, one week to recover the Internet connection and finally part by part of the city can make a call as before.

Back in early this month, when my brother travel back to Sandakan for two weeks stay he found the house drinking water taste salty. The fresh water from water tab is actually taste SALTY !!!! There must be something wrong with the water reservoir and we found out there was a new water catchment replace instead. Salty water is hazardous to health where we consume it daily ~

Today, the Sandakan local newspaper - Merdeka Daily News - shows the headline of dead fishes & prawns found along the reservoir river!! Pollution is happening in the water catchment where we drink the water supply daily!! OMG.. The local Water Supply Department must be trying to kill the Sandakan residents ~

There is an Urgent Meeting held to get solution to this issue and problem detected is land that surrounding the water catchment area are all cultivated into oil palm estate. Fertilizer and cultivation waste flow into the water which will be supplied to city residents....

What do we learned from the issue here??

1. Control land development especially next to water reservoir.
2. Oil palm estate are develop without pollution control now.
3. Residents should not keep quite when they taste something wrong with the water. Let the dead fishes tell the complaints????

And what are the queries should be answered??

1. What makes the reserved land and forest in the reservoir area developed into oil palm estate?
2. What changed the initial reservoir from Mile 22 to Segaliur River which is polluted?
3. WHAT MAKES YOU KEEP QUIET FOR ALL THE PROBLEMS AND COMPLAINTS ???

From the daily black out of electricity supply , the communication system break down and to the polluted water supply .... Sandakanian, you know you are in a terrible living standard. Please voice it out and dont be tire... We know this is a life long issue to fight for as we fight for it since 30 years back. What we can do is keep on fighting for better life ~

Book Fest Malaysia @ 2009

This is an annual Book Fest Malaysia (takes place at KLCC) which promotes the reading habit among Malaysians. It happens the same every year where parents bring along children for free reading whole day long. It is not free at all since the visitor will be charged RM 2 per day entry. As usual, I went with my brother for a quick browse on any interesting item. We didn't buy much things but just something handy. My brother used to go National Library every fortnightly so he doesn't need to buy books ; I'm not interested with fiction books but more on architectural reading. Not much kiosks that interested me. However something become my collection are ~ recycle bags ... That's because my sister always asks for souvenir of "recycle bags". Well, it is the trend for most publishers getting their own print recycle bags. It's getting more creative beside just ~ print. I think I'm getting addicted to the collection for my sister :P

Finally my study mission is completed!!! Three graduations in a row ( with two years break in between for working experience ). Two Degrees and One Master ... my family really pray for not another graduation in coming years. Hopefully my PhD. wont be so soon :P ...

It's convocation again ~ ..... AGAIN??? ... sign... Yes, again~ This is my third convocation. The FIRST was very exciting, the SECOND was an obligation, the THIRD is just a PROCEDURE ~ My family must be praying that never have the FORTH on it's way ... :P

Well.. my parents didn't attend the ceremony this time but my parents-in-law replace instead. They were happy maybe because they seldom attend convocation from their children ... or perhaps they are proud to have a graduate daughter-in-law? Everyone wake up very early in the morning. In fact father-in-law was just back from work at 6.30am. He postponed a press conference which crash with my convocation time. Mother-in-law bought me a warm lilies bouquet for the graduation day. Sounds like the new parents are taking the graduation more serious ... Good to have them ~

~ Sandakan Banquet ~ 27 June 09

The first session wedding banquet from the Bride's family took place in Sandakan's Sabah Hotel Grand Ballroom on 27 June 09. A simple but romantic, medium but under control dining session was a warm up session to the family-in-law for a week before the banquet in KL.

A simple event but memorable to each guest of the night. The dining served for a number of 30 tables where the toasting to each table just manage to be done on time but not rush. I manage to talk to most of the guests and relax on the dining session. Everything was just nice and under control ~

The most memorable was we manage to dance for our guests. The wedding first dance of Waltz. Some guests asked for the dance course during the table to table toasting session. We are glad to hear that many people in town are actually taking ballroom dance class but there is only one dance school in town. Well, we get the offer to teach ~ hahaha... perhaps after I persuade the teacher course or during my retire age will take that into consideration ~ Not bad as a part time dance teacher :P

Our wedding photo is in Sandakan local press - Merdeka Daily! Ten years passed ~ This is the second time that I am being published in the news front page. The first time was in the age of 16 when I scored full A's during my PMR result :D

There is a culture in Sandakan that people will publish an announcement for wedding, condolence, graduation or receiving award etc in the local press for purpose serve as notice. The Sandakan local community is small with the one and only local news paper calls Merdeka Daily. Publishing notice in the press is just like passing flyers among the public. The culture is very much different compare to Penansular Malaysia where in Sabah each region will have its own daily press, such as Tawau Daily, KK Daily & Sandakan Daily. The market is small but it fit the purpose to report everything that happened in town. This is something unique to the local culture and it really strengthen up the community relationship ~

~ Bed Setting up Day ~ 14 June 09

According to the Chinese tradition, the wedding day has to be a selected day from the fortune teller. The same thing apply to the bed setting up day. On this day, I and Justin has to beautify the wedding room by ourselves. Therefore we made an instant home deco turning the empty bedroom into a luxury hotel room in few hours time. Here is the outcome ~

Our idea of the room decoration is resort style living at first place. We wanted to stick to the white, apple green, magenta and dark brown timber colour theme. However the elderly seem not into the "British India" cup of tea so much, therefore we revised the theme into red & maroon and as luxury for a show room unit for the family. There we finalized the concept before bed setting up day. The wedding bedroom is always a show unit for catching family pictures. So no doubt we are doing this for the family and relatives. Once wedding is over, the earlier concept will back to " British India" :D

Hantaran ~ 8 June 09 ~

The Hantaran Day is set to be on 8 June 09, Monday. The Groom's family sent over some wedding cakes and biscuits in the day and a roasted whole pig by the evening. A buffet dinner is served for a number of 50 invited guests. That was the highest record of the most visitors to my house ever. It's suppose the most happening night in the family ever.

Most of the guests were actually attracted by the roasted pork only. Some guests bring along cheese cake, water melon, fruits and hampers. Everyone was enjoy the meal and have chatting around with the elderly. It was seldom to gather all the friends and relative for such an occasion. I do think father was happy to be the host this time. Although there was a heavy rain in the beginning of the dinner which made the guests raining cats and dogs but the short while of rain seems not to take away the joy and happiness for this pre-wedding celebration ~ The dinner starts early at 6.30pm and ended early by 11pm. The family took 2 hours for the cleaning up job after the happening party and manage to organize the process smoothly.

My comment of the party is ~ My pet, Bobo was actually the noisiest kid of the night. She was scared by the crowd and asking me for protection whole night long. I have to carry he in my arm wherever I go. Ends up like she is the fullmoon baby of the dinner party ~

Journey Back Home ~ Sandakan

The journey back to Sandakan by Airasia flight is now re-timed from 2pm to 5.05pm. Therefore my journey back home now can always allow me to see the sun set along the journey fly home. The flight takes about 2 hours and 45 minutes to cross over the South China Sea. It is a long journey but it seems such a short one when one is planning things to be done for only three days back home. Yes, my trip back home is only for three days stay. What a rush trip ~ It is short but very compact. Everything needs to be done and well presented to friends and family.

There my very first ballroom dress is made. The dress is tailor made with typical materials but decorated with Swarovski diamonds ... Somehow the dress is reserved for future dance performance and competition with my husband to be ~ The same reason of tailor made a taxido for the Groom. Wooo ... the couple sounds well prepared for ballroom dancing in their furture path ~

Family's Mega Project in 20 Years ~

Finally the family is having a big refurbishment to the home in 20 years time. Usually parents will only do so for a strong reason. And my coming wedding is the strongest reason ever :D

Everyone is happy for the brand new home ... But ... the process is really troublesome!! For one whole week I was back to my home in Sandakan, I acted as the Superintendent Officer who supervise the renovation process ~ For a very long time never wanted to move any furniture in the living room, now I have to assist the workers for the wall painting. A double volume living space is nice to stay but hard in maintenance!

My small but fierce Terrier , BoBo, was the one who never rest in running her job securing the home~
Everyone find her troublesome ~ She follows every worker who enter the house, barks when they tried to move out of their assigned location, jump and bite whenever the workers are not listening to her warning, ATTACKS when we warn NOT TO attack.... hahaha... There she ends up with a tiring week everyday ~

Everything is cover up with news paper during the house painting process. Bobo leave no where but on the chair she can rest ~

Obviously (from the picture above) , the series is having a concept theme! The circle ring of Swarovski Crystal ~

The donut Swarovski crystal is made into bracelet, ear rings and necklace with the same concept. Each one is unique of its design but with a common circle. I'm in Lee Hom Concert

I'm a lucky one! Many teens wish for their life to go for Lee Hom's concert but cannot get a ticket. However I got a ticket free ~ Be sorry to Lee Hom's fans.. I am not that into him. Just because a friend was asking for replacement or companion so I took the honour offer.

I did not put any expectation to his concert since I seldom listen to his songs. Finding myself strange among the audiences because they get excited of every song that he performed. I was just sitting quietly and watching the show peacefully. It was a good experience to mix among the youngsters. Seeing them being crazy of the idol , hopping up & down, screaming, singing with him, stood up on the seat instead of just stand up watching. It was a rock concert, so their reaction were actually right.

No doubt , Lee Hom is a very good artist. He can sing and plays many music instruments. And he dances too ! Then I recall a few old songs of him that I heard. The stage effect was good. Laser and lighting, fireworks... he was involved in the production. Happy to see the audience were actually enjoy the night. Some children come along with parent ... it was the kids who are the fans instead of the parents... hahaha... Many fans come all over the world to catch up his concert. There are from Hong Kong, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore .. etc... A very influential artist ~

The concert only occupied quarter of the stadium but almost all seats are full. There were 25,000 audience of the night. I am lucky to be one of them :)

Since the wedding official website is up, we get a very good comments about the photos from the guests. They like it so much. Each of them has their own favourite shoot. We believe the photographer has done a really perfect job!

I and my husband to be decided to have a budget but special wedding invitation card series. The main intention is because of many of our invited guests are from out station. Instead of sending RED BOOM in an envelope, we will have a postcard series. We have printed the selected pre-wedding shoot into stamps design and another eight selected photos will be printed in postcards~ We believe when the guests receive a picture from the invitation card, it will be kept as a souvenir :)

A happening night out with unexpected friends appointment. This night, I and Justin visited a friend just to discuss about some wedding arrangement and updates. However, more crowd joined in for the good news from us. So we decided to have a drink at a cozy place. The 32 Lounge at puchong~

The 32 Lounge is a place where I found kids & baby with parents are walking around. Yup.. this is the first pub I ever seen with families gather around for dinner and drinks. The lower floor is a fine dining restaurant while the upper level is a lounge. A friend ordered two bottles of champagne with other orders of martini and beer. Chat and laughter ... I am the only lady in the group ~

I never have liquor of that much. I don't like beer especially. So I have picked on the Lychee Martini. Sweet liquor tastes better. Within three hours of chatting, I actually finished up one glass of martini and two glasses of champagne. Bottom's up!

The guys never have enough... They wanna listen to a friend's singing right after that. It was midnight. So they decided to go Wing's , a sing club. There the same person who order and paid the drinks before this ordered another bottle of red wine again. Before we leave by 2am, one of the friend went up to the stage and sang us a song. He really has a beautiful voice like Jackey Cheung however he is a regional top banker. Can't believe it~

This night, I actually discovered myself quite lasting to sweet liquors ... but not beer. The most alcohol I ever take in my life~

Marriage Preparation Course

Most of the "going to get married" couples do not believe in getting a formal marriage course before their wedding. Some worry the course may rise up sensitive issues which both parties do not want to talk about it ; some worry to find out the true self and might change the decision not to marry the partner; some think the course may even worse the current situation of the relationship; some go to attend just because it is compulsory. Yes, Marriage Preparation Course is compulsory to Christians but I am not a Christian.

I and my husband to be, Justin, have completed our five weeks Marriage Preparation Course and finally we attended the Graduation Day :) A simple ceremony organised by Pastor Chandran for the first time. Normally there will not be any graduation ceremony but just to complete the course on the fifth week. Like the other couples, we all enter the course with hesitation and wonder ~ What is it going to be tested in our relationship? Could it challenge our relationship to hold stronger? Will we decide not to get marry until the relationship has grow more mature? Have we really choose the right partner? etc..... However we were wrong. Those are just silly wonders that stopped most couples to discover the issue of being a stronger partnership.

Marriage Preparation Course is :

- NOT a course to tell how different between the couple and they shouldn't being together.

- a course for problem solving rather than arguing right or wrong.

- telling one that same arguments happened to every couple; not only between two of you.

- giving case studies that the most contrast couple in the world could be a happy couple.

- a tactic to maintain a happy marriage.

There were five chapters being discussed:

1. Communication

2. Commitment

3. Resolving Conflict

4. Keeping love alive

5. Shared goals and values

Each session gave us surprise result. The discussion was really effective! We are getting improved week by week. In fact, we were always excited looking forward the next topic to be discussed by the following week. There were one lovely couple for 11 years partnership in the group. They gave a testimonial as below:

" We have been knowing each other for 11 years and we never expect there is so much issues between us. We seldom fight and we are always a loving couple. The course have improved us from good to better. And we hope that we will be even better holding together after the marriage. There is no reason you should only attend the course when you found problems appear "

Couples should always attend a marriage course as a body check up twice a year. This is for the goodself in maintaining a healthy relationship.

What a suprised!!!! I found myself in the first issue of "hote" magazine, April to June issue ~ Well, that was a selected pre-wedding photo shoot by a rising star photographer, Jon Low.

We have expected him to be a star before we appoint him as our pre-wedding photographer who recommended by a friend. His shooting is so unique and natural. That's the reason we have choosen him from a long list of recommended photographers. No commercial pose, no typical outdoor scene and no studio photos~ The most we like is the concept of Trash The Dress. He likes advanture bridal shoot! We got his service with an unexpected low fee as well!

Perhaps, I should have had post another article of " I Hear the Wedding Bell " before I posted this article. It sounds a sudden jump from the wedding news. Yes! I am getting married on 4th of July~

The Farewell Dinner ~

Thesis is over, and we are ready for celebration! The Pre-Graduation Dinner for Architecture students of Faculty of Build Environment,University Malaya, was take place in The Palace of Golden Horses. This night was the first time farewell dinner organised by the school. It was a great successful event run by the forth year students. We find out that there are many archi students so talented that they shouldn't stay in this profession study :P Singing, Jazz band, magic show, contemporary dance, animations etc. We are proud that we are such multi-talented artists~

The forth year organiser committee has done a hard work in preparing the event and rehearsal. The Dean, Head of Department, Lecturers, students.... all are pleased to enjoy the performance. I wish this good start will carry on annually. In fact, architecture students who work hard always seldom present themselves in such elegance and well dressed. What a suprise night to the guys ~

My design thesis title - The DanceSport City

Structural study of the building.

Finally we are released from the pressure which has been carried for two years... Yes, the fifth year architectural design thesis final presentation is over now! Everybody is in extremely happy mood. Sleepless, meal-less, torture, struggle, accidentally cut the fingers during model making... everything is over now. It was a season to gain weight too. We used to sit in front of the PC doing drawings for one whole month.. suddenly we can shift the screen to TV or theater ^0^

During this one year project, some really invested so much into the process. Some spent so much money in model making, some put a lot of effort in the drawings, some struggle whole year for a better design solution and concept... and some decided to quit the profession right after completed the project. Everyone was so serious completing the final with all their hearts. Be glad that once in our life we have done something beyond our capability. Everyone has been pushed beyond their limit! And yet, no over expectation for a better grade but just complete to graduate. Pass or fail... and that is your destiny. In fact, this batch has broke the record for the best UM architectural design thesis in seven years. What a good news~

Everything comes to an end. The project is just a part of the study life. Life still goes on regardless the result of it. Well, from now on... we all have to prepare ourselves for the life after design thesis - get into the world of professional practice ~ an architect to be!

You should be dancing ....

No doubt, dancing can get you away from the routine of life. I am in ballroom dance class for almost four years. Learn all ten dances of Standard Modern and America Latin. It is really fun! At least that is the only sport i do weekly... I am truely into it!

There is an annual exam of NATD ( National Award for Teacher of Dancing ) which take place in mid of the year. I used to sit for exam annually. In fact, I got my bronze and silver award in past two years. It should be my gold award this year ~ however, I think I couldn't make it this year. Schedule crash with my big day... Anyhow, I still enjoy the exam steps during the routine classes. Take the steps but not for the exam ^_^

Recently took up a new dance - The Saturday Night Fever ! Learning to dance like John Travolta in 70's. In fact, it is more fun to dance freestyle in line dance. Truely enjoy it!

A story about Dogs

I am getting inspired to tell something in narrative way .... softer in explaination and only be an advice to smart people if they could have understand the moral behind the story. Here is a story about a dog....

Goofy was a poor dog, a golden retrivier, who adopted by a rich family for a reason of his true owner's family is getting a new born baby soon. The owner said to the rich family that he only send Goofy for boarding for a duration of time but everyone understood that Goofy will never go home again as the baby will grow to a child and still the family do not allow a pet in the house.

Goofy was send to the rich family with a total new environment. He was once a house kept pet but now he became an outdoor pet who kept in a cage house. His best shower is the stormy rain ; his best sunbath is to rest under the hot afternoon sun everyday. No one will bath him, no more jogging, no more playing , no more loving ... and who will care if he has water to drink or does he fill his stomach every night before he falls into sleep ?... There, he goes through his life for passed two years....

The rich family owns three little Shi Tzu kept in the house. They are cute, playful, innocent ... and the most important is Shi Tzu is easy to be maintained. There, the eldest most respect Shi Tzu, BoBo, kept in the house for five years, with owner's complement that he could understand most the human talking and behavior. These little Shi Tzu are allowed to walk in and out of the house as long as they never beyond the house gate. Sometimes they like to walk close to Goofy cage too... A big dog keep in a cage house ; small dogs running freely within the compound. Believed that Goofy was always jealous for the freedom they have. Little dogs were well-taking care if they were sick or asking for hunger. Food was always full in their container ; contrasty, Goofy can only get the family's attention of hungry by non-stop barking whenever he see someone passing by the front yard. That's his routine for a skill to survive longer .... What could he ask for more ? As long as he never fall sick , he survives ....

One day, the "good old days" is no longer happened to the in-house Shi Tzu. The rich family is having a new born baby soon..... The house owner is sending them to be adopted by other families ... one by one. Not even the eldest most intelligent BoBo can escape from this fate. Young dogs are easy to be adopted as they are still cute ; old dog will never be a fun toy to new owner as he has such dignity to be respect as the eldest.

Now, guess the most lucky person is Goofy who never has a chance to stay in the house. He should have thankful that he has never enjoy the temporary luxurious life. Otherwise he might face the second time to be adopted in the same reason of excuse.

Sometime the bad things you are having in your life may not be the worst that you will have .... Believe me that the casting in this story are really dogs....
